What: Finding out my baby had gotten her second tooth
Setting: Airplane seat, by the window, sitting next to my husband, at the end of the day (9 pm)
What am I feeling - surprise, shock, amazement, tired from traveling
Looks like:
my body is slumped backwards, Lane is moving moving moving
my eyes were heavy, half open
laser-focus on keeping Lane entertained
wetness covered my knuckle, as Lane sucked my finger like a lollipop, and chewed on my finger like it was her favorite food
eyebrows raised
mouth dropped
trying to hold her still to see her mouth
Sounds like:
scraping on my knuckles, like a rake scratching the sidewalk
"What on earth?"
shouting to my husband in surprise, even though the other passengers were sleeping (oops!)
Thinking:
"Ow!"
"This wasn't here this morning!"
"This can't be!"
"Did she grow her tooth on this flight?"
"But she wasn't showing any signs of another tooth coming in!"
